R&B star Beyonce Knowles was reportedly approached to replace Amy Winehouse and record the theme song for the forthcoming Bond movie, Quantum Of Solace. Knowles became the favourite to record the title track after British singer Amy Winehouse was unable to perform her duties due to long-standing health issues. But it seems newlywed Knowles has lost her bid for the singing part, as Alicia Keys and Jack White (of bands The White Stripes and The Raconteurs) will record the theme for ‘Quantum of Solace’ reports Access Hollywood. The new track is called ‘Another Way To Die’ and was written and produced by White, who also performs on the drums in the theme song. It will be the first theme to feature a duet in James Bond history. ‘Quantum of Solace’ is due to arrive in theatres in November, but the soundtrack will be out October 28. |

Singer/songwriter Sean ‘The Pen’ Garrett informed fans via his official MySpace profile that he recently finished crafting another club banger for Beyonce Knowles’ upcoming 3rd album, which is due in November via Music World Entertainment/Columbia Records. Garrett previously collaborated with Knowles on tracks like ‘Check on It’, ‘Ring the Alarm’, ‘Green Light’, ‘Get Me Bodied’, ‘Upgrade U’, ‘World Wide Woman’, ‘Beat My Drums’ and ‘Lost Yo’ Mind’. |

A star heading to this year’s Bermuda Music Festival is being paid $500,000 - and getting up to another $500,000 in expenses. The performer - most likely Beyonce, who is known for her luxurious diva lifestyle - commands almost half the $2.2 million being spent on ten acts for the October gig. The second highest fee, probably for Alicia Keys, is $425,000 - but it seems the R&B singer will be enjoying a less extravagant stay on the Island with an expenses claim of up to $75,000. Premier and Tourism Minster Ewart Brown put the figures into the public domain last Friday, although he did not reveal which act cost which amount of money.
